The 5 Pilates Studios in Amsterdam That Make Every Workout Feel Like a Treat
You know that feeling when you leave a class more confused than when you started?
That was my friend after her first Pilates session in Amsterdam—excited to try something new, but walking out stiff, and wondering if everyone else got a secret instruction manual.
She called me straight after, ready to abandon Pilates for good. But no one should have to give up because of one bad experience.
So together, we made it our mission to find the best Pilates studios in Amsterdam where even total beginners feel at home (and actually learn something). If your first class left you doubting, this list is for you.
How much do pilates studios charge in Amsterdam?
Pilates studio prices in Amsterdam vary depending on the type of class. Group sessions cost €20–€35 each, memberships are €115-€220 per month, and private sessions are €75–€95.
1. PILAT3S De Pijp

Address: Ceintuurbaan 131h, 1072 GA
Contact Details: +31 20 221 1238
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 6:20 AM to 9:50 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – 7:05 AM to 8:00 PM
PILAT3S De Pijp has an energy that hits you as soon as you walk in—the space is bright, calm, and seriously clean. Mats and reformers are always ready, which sets you up for a smooth class.
And it’s not just me who thinks so; I’ve talked with other regulars, and everyone agrees the studio is always super tidy and well looked after.
The schedule is another big plus. With classes running from early mornings through to evenings and weekends, it’s easy to fit a session around a busy workweek.
Classes are kept small, so you never feel lost in the room, and the instructors pay close attention, offering tips that actually feel tailored to you.
All of this comes at a fair price. Drop-in classes are around €25, and if you plan to go regularly, the class packs or monthly memberships offer better value. Private sessions are available, too, if you want more focused, one-on-one guidance.
The only downside is that popular classes fill up fast, especially after work. You’ll need to book ahead if you want a spot on short notice.
The classes are challenging yet uplifting
“This studio is amazing. The classes are challenging yet uplifting, the instructors are warm and genuinely care, and the vibe makes you want to keep coming back. They also host amazing events that make you feel part of a real community, and their post-workout protein drinks are honestly the best treat after a session. I always leave feeling lighter, stronger, and happier, it’s one of my favourite parts of the week. 🤍✨”

“Such a lovely place, the staff is nice and the reformers are really good and interesting. The instructor Katya was so pleasant and made the entire experience so nice, that i booked the next class the next day”

2. Change with Pilates Studio

Address: Piet Gijzenbrugstraat 19 I, 1059 XE
Contact Details: +06 388 61228
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
- Saturday – 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Sunday – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Change with Pilates doesn’t feel like just another fitness studio. Right away, you’ll notice that Deniz, the instructor, really knows her stuff and brings something special to every class.
She’s certified in the BASI method, and her approach stands out for its personalized care and emphasis on mindful movement.
I kept hearing from other clients how much they appreciate the way she tailors exercises to address individual needs—especially those who take her scoliosis-focused classes.
The sessions aren’t one-size-fits-all, either. Whether you’re expecting a baby, an athlete looking to build strength, or a senior wanting to move safely, Deniz pays close attention to everyone’s needs.
I also have to mention the studio itself—it feels so inviting. There’s a real focus on detail here. It’s cozy and organized, but never cramped or sterile. It’s nothing like those echoing gym halls I’ve been to before.
But just a heads-up: the booking policy is pretty firm. You’ll want to book your spot in advance, and if you need to cancel, make sure you do it at least 24 hours ahead. Otherwise, your class fee may not be refunded.
Creates a safe environment where you can build body awareness and confidence
“I’ve been doing Pilates with Deniz for several months (49 sessions to be exact), and it’s made a huge difference. Her approach is both supportive and highly knowledgeable, especially for people dealing with hypermobility or chronic pain. She creates a safe environment where you can build strength, body awareness, and confidence without fear of injury. Whether in private or duet sessions, Deniz tailors each class to individual needs and always finds a way to balance different levels in the same session. I’ve noticed real improvements in posture, movement habits, and overall comfort in my body. Highly recommend!”

Carefully observed me at my first workout and tailored classes for me
“I joined Deniz pilates classes being one year postpartum, and it was my first workouts after giving a birth. Deniz very carefully observed me at my first workout and tailored classes for me so I could adapt to sport routine gradually. Because I wanted to come back to sport but at the same time to start it without having any stress, so pilates classes perfectly suited for me. Can definitely recommend! Thank you, Deniz!”

3. Amsterdam Pilates for Her

Address: Albert Cuypstraat 202, 1073 BM
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Amsterdam Pilates for Her truly feels like a community—and that’s no accident. The ladies-only policy and no-camera rule seem to set everyone at ease, making the whole environment feel safe.
The studio itself is lovely: reformers are always in great shape, and the space is spotlessly clean and chic.
That welcoming atmosphere extends to how classes are run. By keeping the groups small (usually just 8 to 10 people), the studio ensures everyone gets personal attention, which makes a noticeable difference.
One client said she finally felt confident trying reformer Pilates because she knew she wouldn’t get lost in a sea of people.
There’s also a good variety of classes to match different moods and fitness goals. You can go for a full-body challenge or take a slower, mindful session.
I found the “Anasheed” class particularly thoughtful—no music, just peaceful Quran recitations—which really highlights how the studio supports a variety of preferences so well.
One thing to keep in mind is pricing. It’s a bit higher than your typical gym, but honestly, for the personalised instruction and the supportiveenvironment, it feels worth it.
Beautiful studio with the most welcoming and cosy atmosphere

4. Smartbody Pilates

Address: Molenpad 15, 1016 GL
Contact Details: +31 64 827 0752
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
- Friday – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Sunday – 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
SmartBody Pilates isn’t the kind of studio that tries to wow you with flashy décor or loud music. Instead, it’s calm and quiet when you walk in—a quality I found especially inviting.
The equipment here is meticulously maintained. Beyond the classic mats and reformers, you’ll find Cadillacs, Wunda Chairs, and Ladder Barrels, showing the studio’s dedication to both Pilates tradition and modern practice.
The class schedule is surprisingly broad for a space like this. You can book private sessions for tailored guidance, join small-group classes, take online lessons, or sign up for occasional workshops when you want a new challenge.
They even offer Alexander Technique classes, a wonderful bonus if you’re interested in posture-focused training.
The instructors behind these sessions make sure to really pay attention—clients with injuries or aches can speak up, and adjustments are made on the spot. A regular even said she’s stayed for years, feeling strong and genuinely cared for.
The only limitation is the space itself. This isn’t a large gym with showers, a lounge, or locker rooms—just a bathroom and a spot to change. If you’re looking for a place with more amenities, it might not be the right fit.
The place to go if you want to learn real Pilates
“Last week, I completed my Mat Teacher Training at Smartbody. This is the place to go if you want to learn real Pilates, away from passing trends. The training is solid, detailed and demanding in the right way. The groups are small, which means you’re truly seen and receive individual guidance. You’re constantly challenged, but always with kindness and awareness. That balance is rare, and it’s what allows you to grow so much in such a short time. In just three months, I felt supported into becoming a teacher, gaining confidence and a strong foundation. There’s a real sense of warmth at Smartbody — in the people who work there and in the way teaching is approached. Standards are high, hard work and study are expected, but everything is done with care. I’ve now finished the Mat course, I’m already teaching, and I’ll be continuing my training here with the Reformer course — there’s still so much to learn! The best Pilates studio in Amsterdam — and very likely in the Netherlands 💛”

Friendly and encouraging environment
“If you wish to learn how to teach and train your body the way Joseph Pilates himself intented, in a friendly and encouraging environment, Smartbody Pilates teacher training program is for you! Teachers are amazing; friendly and attending, invested in your success, not to mention near 20 years of exprience which they pass on to the new trainers. In 12 week course I feel I captured the essence of pilates, exprienced the joy of teaching myself, and pushed my body’s limit even further in every class. I felt like the studio became my second home during the course, I didn’t miss a single self practice time, and I’ve learned a lot from both my teachers, Jelena and Marieke. You can ask anything and they are always happy to answer. Let’s not forgot Anatomy lessons, which were given by Patrick who is a great teacher! I learned from him and his lectures more than the muscles and bones but movement principles and physiology of pilates and other concepts we hear in pilates such as tone, flebility and so on.. He encouraged us to discuss these concepts and allowed to discover ourselves. I am really grateful that I chose Smartbody Pilates to get my teacher training, it was one of the great expriences of my life. I recommend Smartbody highly to anyone who is considering teacher training, don’t hesitate, sign up right away!”

5. LS Pilates

Address: Eerste Passeerdersdwarsstraat 2C, 1016 XD
Contact Details: +31 62 062 0889
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Tuesday – 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Wednesday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – Closed
LS Pilates focuses on making everything feel personal. Every session is one-on-one or a duet, so there’s no scrambling for a spot or getting lost in the shuffle—you get full attention the whole time.
Of course, that intimacy comes with a trade-off—you won’t get the sense of community that many people find motivating in Pilates studios.
I noticed a lot of regulars stick around year after year, which makes sense given how tailored the programs are to each person’s body, goals, and needs.
Some even shared how they came in with injuries or feeling stuck elsewhere, only to make real progress and gain confidence here.
You also won’t be flipping through an endless class schedule here. Instead, variety comes from how you train. If you’re just starting, the intro pack (three 55-minute sessions for €225) is a nice way to get a feel for it.
Single sessions are pricier (€125 for a 55-minute private), but you’re paying for undivided attention. There are discounts for 5- or 10-class packs, and you even get a free 30-minute coaching intake to explore your goals before diving in.
A calm, inspiring space that instantly makes you feel at ease
“I first heard about LS Pilates through a friend, and I’m so incredibly glad I did! Lieske is such a wonderful Pilates instructor and coach. She gives you her full attention, really tunes in to your body, and guides you with so much care and professionalism. The studio itself is absolutely beautiful — a calming, inspiring space that instantly makes you feel at ease. I wholeheartedly recommend LS Pilates to anyone who wants to feel stronger, more flexible, and more connected to their body. Training at LS Pilates genuinely feels like a gift to yourself.”
