5 Best Yoga Studios in Amsterdam That’ll Keep You Glued to Your Mat
A few months ago, I hit one of those weeks where everything felt just a bit too full. Workdays ran longer than they should have, my mind didn’t really switch off in the evenings, and I realised I hadn’t done much for myself in a while.
A friend of mine suggested trying yoga. I’ll admit, I was sceptical at first. I pictured a room full of people who already knew exactly what they were doing, and me trying to fall over something deceptively simple.
Still, curiosity won. I started looking into yoga studios around Amsterdam, and eventually found the best one for me. But rather than keep those discoveries to myself, here’s my curated list that (I hope) is worth checking out.
How much do yoga classes cost in Amsterdam?
Classes typically cost between €15 and €25 per drop-in, depending on the studio and session type, such as hot yoga or specialised workshops.
Many studios offer class packs or monthly memberships, which can bring the price down to around €10 to €15 per class if you attend regularly.
1. Dimitra Yoga

Address: Kraijenhoffstraat 135-B
Contact details: +31 6 19631714
Business hours:
- Wednesday: 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Thursday: 5:45 PM – 7:15 PM
- Saturday: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
There’s something different about practising yoga in a smaller, more personal setting. When I came across Dimitra Yoga, it felt less like a studio and more like stepping into a space designed for slowing down and reconnecting.
Dimitra herself has around seven years of teaching experience, and the way she describes her practice centres on creating a welcoming environment for students of all levels.
The Hatha-Vinyasa class is at the top of her repertoire. It begins with a short Dharma talk and chant before building into sequences that develop strength, flexibility, and mindful movement.
The pace shifts throughout the session, but beginners don’t have to feel intimidated. Modifications are offered along the way, so everyone can move at a level that feels right for them.
Many regulars seem to be drawn to the restorative side of her classes. Here, the Yoga Therapy & Sound Bath sessions ease physical and emotional tension, with calming sounds supporting deep relaxation.
Beyond group classes, she also offers private yoga sessions aligned with the students’ needs and goals, whether to improve alignment or explore meditation.
The only catch is that the class schedule is fairly limited, so spots can fill up quickly if you’re not paying attention.
Dimitra was great to work with
“Dimitra taught a morning yoga class for our conference at the Hotel nHow Amsterdam RAI, and it was such a wonderful experience for our attendees! Dimitra was great to work with, and I highly recommend working with her to anyone who may be hosting a corporate yoga experience.”

Her sessions are always versatile, so they never feel repetitive
“I’m so lucky to have met Dimitra three years ago! Having tried many different studios and classes in Amsterdam, I can confidently say that Dimitra’s classes are the best. Her sessions are always versatile, so they never feel repetitive — even after three years. She explains and corrects movements very clearly, and she always creates a relaxing vibe and ambiance in the studio that helps you focus on your practice. Dimitra also ensures a proper warm-up to prevent injuries, which I really appreciate. It’s also lovely to see so many regulars who have been attending her classes for years. I simply can’t recommend Dimitra’s classes enough!”

2. Sukha Yoga

Address: Ceintuurbaan 243
Contact details: +31 6 18485315
Business hours: Daily: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sukha Yoga bills itself as a “city retreat,” running daily classes alongside healing-style sessions.
Their offerings lean toward a more calming style of practise like Reiki & Relax Yoga, where gentle poses are combined with subtle energy work to help release tension and leave you feeling relaxed.
If you’re in need of a gentler movement but with a bit more flow, many of their students bring up the Somatic Flow session. The sequences are slow, which eases stiffness and improves mobility.
For such a busy studio, I do like that they avoid back-to-back classes. This gives everyone time to fully settle after the session before heading out.
Though I have to warn you that they’re not the most budget-friendly, you might want to plan ahead before booking.
The energy practised here fills the studio
“A wonderful oasis of serenity in the middle of a vibrant, hectic city, a space created with love and care. The energy practiced here fills the studio, creating a warm and uplifting aura. Our teacher, Anna, is a powerful yogini with an inborn sense of grace and beauty. She is generous in sharing her wisdom and radiance while guiding you through the practice – a truly inspiring experience!”

The studio is calming yet energising
“Anna is an incredible teacher and the studio is calming yet energizing. I would highly recommend Sukha The City Retreat for a vinyasa yoga class. One of the best yoga classes I’ve had!”

3. Svaha Yoga Jordaan Studio

Address: Willemsstraat 133
Contact details: +31 6 50888886
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Svaha Yoga studio is well known for its Vinyasa flow classes, and its name constantly appears whenever I look for this type of yoga experience.
Depending on your skill level, you can start with the Vinyasa 1 (moderate flow), which they highly recommend for newbies. It’s easy enough to follow without many modifications.
If you’re already a pro, you can skip directly to Vinyasa 3 for a dive into the ultimate flow. This one demands your full concentration, so expect that sequences aren’t going to be a breeze.
They also offer Kundalini Yoga to get your energy going and Yin Yoga for slow, deep stretches. They even consider how our bodies age; that’s why they cater to clients aged 60+ with their Yoga for Seniors.
But no matter what class you sign up for, students always point out how supportive the instructors are, giving hands-on adjustments while offering cues and mantras to help you connect with your practice.
That said, most classes are more on the advanced side, and you’ll need to bring your own mat since they don’t provide them anymore.
Great technical instructions, best hands-on adjustments
“Best yoga studio in Amsterdam! Here they teach you the real deal: a fierce and sweaty vinyasa flow, great technical instructions, best hands on adjustments which make you learn about your own practice more and more. And: yoga philosophy, a bit of chanting, and lots of laughs!”
– Sharon Sprenger, Google Review
Vinyasa classes are a real workout for the soul
“I love this school, even tho it’s further for me to walk that the other yoga studios, I’ll walk an extra mile for the classes here. Vinyasa classes are a real workout for the soul. Yoga Nidra on Thursday is great too. And if you are in town on Friday evening come chant at the Kirtan.”

4. Yagoy

Address: Karel du Jardinstraat 33
Contact details: [email protected]
Business hours:
- Monday: 9:00 AM – 9:15 PM
- Tuesday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 9:15 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 8:45 PM
There’s something nice about stepping into a yoga studio that feels open and welcoming right away. That’s exactly how plenty of clients felt when they came across Yagoy.
It sets a simple tone for the rest of the experience, and it also makes sense once you see how varied their classes are.
The studio is best known for its creative Vinyasa Flow classes. Whether you want a gentle flow, an advanced routine, or even a quiet breathwork, there’s usually something in the schedule that fits.
If you’re easing into yoga, Relax & Flow keeps things light and focuses on the basics. For those who want more of a challenge, their Play & Flow adds strength work and a bit of playful experimentation.
The teachers here make it clear that you don’t have to be flexible or experienced to join in. Students seem to appreciate this vibe, as they always share how wonderful and caring the instructors are.
It isn’t perfect for everyone, though. Some classes can get pretty crowded, making it a little harder to see or hear the guru during busy sessions.
It’s a luminous place, with great teachers
“My favorite yoga studio. I keep coming back every time I am in Amsterdam, and I miss it dearly when I leave. It’s a luminous place, with great teachers, classes at all times of day for all moods and levels. I always feel welcome as I am – good days, bad days, stretchy or stuck, whether I have been there years ago or just yesterday. They don’t take themselves too seriously, and are amazing at making yoga relatable to everyday life. Classes always include the right amounts of philosophy, beats, theming and smiling. And there’s a sense of community that is truly rare.I learned so much on their mats, and I look forward to coming back again soon.”

I’m new to yoga, but the instructors made me feel very welcome
“Great studio all around. I’m new to yoga, but the instructors made me feel very welcome and helped me through learning the basic poses and such. Seems to have a loyal crowd, so I’m sure they’re good for now advanced students as well. Reasonable prices, and all of the lessons I’ve attended were in good, clear English (two were even by American teachers).”

5. Movement Studios | Hot Yogas & Pilates

Address: Utrechtsedwarsstraat 31h
Contact details: [email protected]
Business hours:
- Monday, Wednesday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Walking into a heated yoga studio always feels a little different from your typical class. When I checked out Movement Studios, it quickly became clear that this place is all about turning up the heat—literally.
Their Hot Yoga classes have rooms heating up to 40°C, with one of their most in-demand classes, the Hot C session, focusing on core strength and flexibility with a series of Hatha poses.
Pilates fans aren’t left out either. Their Hot Pilates centres on controlled strength and stamina, while the Pilates Burn mixes technique with cardio and weights for a full-body workout.
That variety also means beginners aren’t boxed into one type of class right away, which is why the studio tends to feel approachable even on a first visit.
Many of the newcomers I talked to adore the studio’s environment. A lot of that actually comes down to the teachers who’ve been extremely supportive and accommodating.
However, I noticed that the heat can be way too intense for those sensitive to temperatures.
The vibe is always very accepting
“Super accessible location with great classes (I love how intense the classes are)! The vibe is always very accepting and everyone can freely move with their own pace. However, it can get crowded at times(with less than 1m between mats).”
– Jiaying Zeng, Google Review
This studio, by far, is the most relaxing yet energising
“Amazing studio. Truly the best in Amsterdam. After having used ClassPass at several locations to see what I liked, this studio by far is the most relaxing yet energizing yoga studio that reminds me of the ones back home in Vancouver. Will be getting a membership.”
