Transform your space with the 5 interior designers in Amsterdam

Licensed or Certifications: We checked each designer’s website to see what licenses or certifications they hold, like BNI or LEED.

Style and Aesthetic: To gain insight into their style, whether sustainable or classic, we reviewed their websites and social media.

Insurance: We also made sure these interior designers clearly list what insurance they offer, like professional liability coverage.

Communication and Collaboration: Since design projects take time, we read past client reviews to see if the designers are responsive, clear, and easy to work with.

Amsterdam homes often juggle between keeping their historic charm and meeting modern needs. Some homes feel stuck in the past, while others seem out of sync with the city’s modern vibe. Finding that balance of style and function isn’t always easy.

That’s where interior designers come in. They know how to blend old and new, creating personalised spaces that not only look good but also make daily life better.

So why wait? Start turning outdated spaces into fresh, modern ones. Check out our list of the top interior designers in Amsterdam who can bring your vision to life.

How much do interior designers charge in Amsterdam?

Day Interior specialises in creating light-filled, functional spaces that reflect your personality.

We were particularly impressed with their light and space analysis. It truly maximises natural light and spatial flow, making a huge impact. One client even commented, ‘It transformed our living room to what we envisioned!’

Another aspect is their focus on sustainability. It is truly evident as they are CSID certified.

One of their exclusive trade-only showrooms was a real treat. We found a wide selection of high-end furnishings, like Italian leather sofas, a modular bookshelf system with sustainable wood and an integrated planter.

And if you can’t make it to the showroom, their virtual design consultation is incredibly convenient. You can access it from home, which makes the whole process easier.

Plus, it is nice to know that they offer spring refresh discounts on selected furniture and decor, such as woven baskets and coffee tables.

Their project management service (PMS) is also a huge time-saver and stress-reliever for overseeing the project. However, be aware that this convenience comes with additional fees that may potentially increase the overall cost.

Pros

  • Offers light & space analysis
  • Exclusive trade-only showrooms
  • Has a virtual design consultation
  • Offers a spring refresh discount
  • CSID-certified

Cons

  • Additional fees for PMS

Yume Atelier promises elegance and modern sophistication, and we were keen to see if they lived up to the hype. Their services cover everything from full home renovation to styling advice.

But the ‘bespoke interior concept’ service really shines. We appreciate their prioritisation of personalisation, which reflects clients’ tastes.

However, be warned: their aesthetics lean heavily towards minimalism. Maximalists or eclectics will absolutely find it underwhelming.

We were really impressed with the colour alchemic consultation. The way they used colour psychology was super clever. It made the space feel balanced and even lifted our mood.

Another highlight was the curated art sourcing by a local artist. We loved how it added local flair to the designs. The free consultation was a nice bonus, and seeing that they offer liability insurance showed us they’re serious.

Pros

  • Bespoke interior concept service
  • Offers colour alchemy consultation
  • Partners with local galleries
  • Offers a complimentary consultation
  • Professional liability insurance

Cons

  • Not into eclectic or maximalist design approach

Top-notch interior designer

Pleasant and professional collaboration

“We are extremely happy with the work that Yume Atelier has done for our new boardroom! From the first conversation, our wishes were really listened to, and that is reflected in the beautiful, unique design. The team of Yume Atelier knew exactly how to create the right atmosphere and look that we had in mind. The collaboration was pleasant and professional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for this style of interior!”

Studio Janne Wellens aims for beautiful and meaningful homes.

We thought the memory mapping consultation was such a unique idea. It let us bring cherished objects into the design, which made the space feel really personal, like a true reflection of our own story.

The welcome home package stood out to us. It’s not just a kind gesture, but the special discount for new residents really helps them settle in and feel at home right away.

Their personalised styling sessions are definitely a plus. They seamlessly incorporate old belongings. One client even mentioned how refreshing it felt to see their favourite pieces worked into the newly designed instead of being discarded.

The feng shui consultation stood out to us as well. It’s not something you come across often, and the way it was applied felt credible.

Additionally, having a WELL AP certification is reassuring, demonstrating a genuine emphasis on creating homes that support overall well-being.

The only trade-off we noticed is that their focus on sustainable and locally sourced materials can sometimes limit the range of choices.

Pros

  • Memory mapping consultationconsultation
  • Welcome home package
  • Personalised styling session service
  • Offers feng shui consultation
  • WELL AP certified

Cons

  • Limited options for international materials

MEL Interiors are known for their bold use of colour, playful patterns and unexpected design elements.

They offer services like colour confidence—it’s a workshop. This is truly amazing since clients can learn and embrace the bolder palettes and create a harmonious colour scheme.

To ensure that every space is used effectively, we like that they employ space planning optimisation that maximises the functionality and flow of the design within the space.

They’ve also offered lighting design expertise. It’s honestly a smooth way to ensure that the design is complemented by a dynamic lighting scheme.

For new clients, I found their discounted consultation a real plus.

And with the commitment to sustainable design practice, they are certified by the LEED Green Association.

However, there are a few drawbacks, especially the strong focus on appearance and energy. This takes away from the more practical side, like long-term comfort and functionality.

Pros

  • Colour confidence workshop
  • 3D visualisation service
  • Offers space planning optimisation
  • Lighting design expertise
  • Discounted consultation for new clients
  • LEED-certified

Cons

  • Potential for limited long-term functionality

The design looks great, and the space is used effectively.

We hired Mel Interiors to design the living/dining room of our apartment. We were happy with the process and love the result. Elayne selected furniture that really suits our lifestyle and looks great. All of the space is used effectively, and the room feels really cosy. The design also fulfils our practical requests for storage and seating, and respects our budget. We would certainly work with the team at Mel again.

Fantastic interior design service

Fantastic service for interior design! It’s amazing to have a house that reflects my wishes and personality. Elayne and Marilia are very attentive and curate amazing, stylish items, without forgetting special touches and details. They give wonderful tips on how to improve spaces, even small ones! I was extremely happy to see the final result of my project and will definitely reach out again for future ideas. Thank you, MEL, for the inspiring work!”

Enter The Loft promises chic, high-end transformations, and they largely deliver.

Their welcome packages, which include complimentary premium material upgrades, really set a strong first impression.

What impressed us most was the smart home integration. From lighting and security to entertainment systems, the way technology was woven into the design made the whole setup feel effortless and future-proof.

We were also fascinated by their personalised art curation. In fact, clients have mentioned that having a piece selected to match their individual taste made their homes feel far less generic.

Their millwork design and fabrication also stood out, offering stylish storage solutions that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Another thing we really liked was their sustainability incentive. If clients choose eco-friendly materials for the whole design, they actually get rewarded. Additionally, their BNI certification lends an extra layer of trust and professionalism.

The only drawback is cost. Enter The Loft’s focus on luxury inevitably comes with a premium price tag.

Pros

  • Top-notch welcome package
  • Personalised art curation
  • Millwork design & fabrication
  • Offers a sustainability incentive
  • BNI Certified

Cons

  • Premium price service
