5 Best Holistic Wellness Training Centres in Amsterdam to Build Real Mind and Body Skills

Curriculum Depth: We checked whether the centre provides recognised certification that carries weight in the wellness industry.

Client Feedback: We considered feedback from past students and clients and looked at how effectively graduates have applied what they learned in real life.

Pricing Transparency: We included training centres that clearly share cost details upfront.

Value for Investment: We assessed whether the programme’s content and outcomes justify the cost and effort involved.

The other week, my friend and I realised we wanted something more than just casual wellness classes. We had been enjoying breathwork and yoga for a while, but what we really wanted was a proper certification so we could take our practice seriously.

We began exploring our options around the city, casually checking out a few classes to see what each programme offered.

The more we looked, the more we noticed a clear difference between weekend workshops and full courses that really cover the foundations.

After inquiring with several centres, we identified Amsterdam’s wellness training schools that stood out as strong options for earning a holistic health and wellness certification.

Now, we’re excited to share the places where you can learn the techniques properly and turn your craft into a real skill.

How much does a holistic health and wellness class cost in Amsterdam?

In Amsterdam, the average cost for a 7-day holistic massage training class may start at €1,300. Meanwhile, more extensive health and wellness coaching certification programmes may cost you around €2,000 to 3,500.

Holistic Movement Amsterdam is led by Dennis van Miltenburg, a holistic trainer with extensive experience working with plant medicines such as Ayahuasca

He opened the academy after studying a variety of healing methods and movement forms under different therapists, bringing together more than a decade’s worth of knowledge into one place.

Despite spending 15 years learning these practices, Dennis has designed the programmes to share the insights in a condensed, accessible format.

The training is divided into four levels, with the cost for each shared upfront. The First level is a single-day event, and the Second level runs for three days, so guidance during these shorter stages can feel a little vague for students who prefer hands-on direction.

Levels Three and Four then move into longer, more in-depth training.

Fortunately, the programme is supported by theory books and an online video platform so that trainees can revisit each chapter at their own pace. This is particularly useful for visual learners who want to deepen their understanding beyond the in-person sessions.

If you’re still undecided, Holistic Movement offers free consultations and an introductory class. Many clients we spoke to appreciated these opportunities, as they helped them choose the coaching path that suited them best.

Meanwhile, they host gatherings and short workshops exclusive to the alumni. Twice a year, they get a chance to reconnect and continue to grow within the community.

Pros

  • Trainer with over 15 years of experience
  • Structured courses
  • Free introductory class
  • Theory books and online video support provided
  • Alumni gatherings and short workshops available
  • Upfront with costs

Cons

  • Vague guidance for the first two levels

He helps you to get closer to your self

“A great coach that doesn’t shy away from the confrontations that I experienced with myself. Dennis is truly capable to assist through inner turmoil. Through both practical and theoretical exercises he helps you to get closer to your self.”

It brought me confidence, joy, and a deeper connection with myself. Dennis’s guidance and the group atmosphere truly made it a place where I could grow. I’m so grateful I did this—it made me lighter, stronger, and freer.”

If you’ve ever wondered how to turn your passion for nutrition into a thriving practice, Dietetics Studies shows the way.

It caters to recently graduated dietitians as well as experienced healthcare professionals looking to elevate their existing skills.

While students can explore fields like naturopathy and orthomolecular therapy, the content is still centred on dietetics, so those seeking a broader approach may need to supplement their learning elsewhere.

Even so, the programme makes up for this by fostering collaboration with experts to guide students through practical topics, like patient care to practice management, in a way that textbooks cannot.

For those drawn to the freedom of a mobile lifestyle, the course even covers how to work as an online dietitian. It’s an ideal route if you want to provide services from a fixed location abroad while remaining fully within the Dutch healthcare system.

Schedules are flexible, with one-on-one and group coaching available. Video conference calls are offered for learners who prefer remote support, so it would be easier to balance studying with other commitments.

And for anyone thinking about costs, all sessions at Dietetics Studies are business deductible as long as you’re registered with the Chamber of Commerce.

  • Courses for online dietitian
  • Ideal for nutritionists
  • Hands-on collaboration with experienced professionals
  • Flexible coaching schedule

This hub operates under the SNRO accreditation, meeting the highest standards for professional education in the complementary and alternative medicine domain.

Esoterra is also a recognised education partner of the employee insurance agency called UWV.

What sets this academy apart is their down-to-earth style: instead of strictly following the manual, trainees discover through practice which methods suit them most.

Beyond these resources, clients value the facility’s open practice days, held monthly. During these sessions, you can choose day or night slots and share knowledge with participants from other programmes, putting what you’ve learned into practice.

The course was taught at a great pace

“I had a wonderful experience completing the English Holistic Massage course. The course was taught at a great pace, with an excellent balance between practical hands-on work and clear, well-structured theory. This made the learning process both engaging and easy to follow. Nedra was an outstanding teacher who was incredibly accommodating to all levels of experience, ensuring that everyone felt supported and confident throughout the course. She has a real wealth of knowledge in holistic massage and was always open and enthusiastic about expanding on topics when the class showed particular interest. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in starting their journey in the world of massage.”

True to its name, the training focuses on the Thai Hand method, a practical bodywork approach built around touch and mindful technique. Along the way, the programme also brings in yoga and personal well-being for a more holistic feel.

It’s a great fit for anyone who wants to go deep into one approach, though individuals hoping for broader therapy coverage may find the curriculum limited.

While the class is specialised, students dive straight into practice, with one-hour sessions divided equally between giving and receiving a massage.

The coaching blends massage with stretches and meditation, equipping learners with a complete wellness toolkit.

Finishing the course also earns clients an internationally-recognised certificate, a credential that carries real weight for anyone planning to practice professionally.

Aside from being transparent with their prices, trainees rave about the convenient payment plans, which allow them to spread the cost over four monthly instalments.

The format stays just as flexible, with online and in-person attendance. English lessons are available too.

Pros

  • Specialises in the Thai Hand method
  • Includes stretches and meditation
  • Internationally recognised certificates
  • Online and in-person study formats
  • English lessons available
  • Transparent pricing
  • Convenient payment plans

Cons

  • Limited coverage on other therapeutic modalities

The class has a profound effect on mind and body

“If you’re thinking about trying the 1 hour massage class here, this is your sign to do it. I was a bit nervous as I wasn’t sure what to expect, plus a bit scared of going alone, but actually from my experience almost everyone is attending alone so you will be fine. The teacher Manel pairs people up so there is no stress of having to “pick” a massage partner. Equally if you want to bring a partner or friend, I’m sure that would be a great experience too. Every time I leave feeling lighter, the class has a profound effect on mind and body, in just 30 mins of being massaged (yes I promise). No matter who I was paired with, even with a beginner, it works everytime! The space is also super calming and the people are very welcoming. Thanks ITM for coming up with this concept and making massage accessible 🙏”
